Iisha
COLLIER

Mrs. Iisha Collier ran track and graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She obtained her 4th and 5th grade generalist endorsement as well as her Master's degree from the University of Akron in Elementary Education with a focus in Literacy. Mrs. Collier attended Cleveland State University to obtain a second Masters in Educational Administration and her Principal Licensure in 2012. During the 2020-2021 school year Mrs. Collier obtained her K-12 Superintendent Licensure from Ashland University and her Diversity and Inclusion certificate from Cornell University. Mrs. Collier worked for Akron Public Schools for 13 years and held positions as a Reading Intervention Specialist, Classroom Teacher, Instructional Specialist and Dean of Students/Assistant Principal. Mrs. Collier is currently the K-6 Curriculum Supervisor and K-12 Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Chair for Stow-Munroe Falls City School District and she is going into her 3rd year with SMFCSD.

 

Mrs. Collier’s philosophy is “To achieve goals you’ve never achieved before, you need to start doing things you’ve never done before”-Stephen Covey. Mrs. Collier loves to collaborate with staff members and empower teachers and  students by putting them in leadership roles. Mrs. Collier considers herself to be a lifelong learner. She subscribes and reads several different articles and professional journals on topics of reading, math, business leadership and DEI as well as school leadership.

 

Personally, in her spare time Mrs. Collier enjoys coaching Track and Field. Mrs. Collier is the long jump coach for Shaker Feet on F.I.R.E. youth track club. Mrs. Collier is married with 3 sons Malachi, Corwyn and Aaron. Her husband Corwyn Collier Sr. is a teacher at Maple Heights High School. Mrs. Collier loves to paint, you can follow Collier Canvases on Facebook to check out her art work. Mrs. Collier still competes in USATF Master track meets. Her two goals are to run and qualify for the Masters World Championship and continue to enhance the knowledge and skills of educators and small business owners through the use of executive coaching strategies.
